Skye and Wester Ross Fisheries Trusts

Joint Seminar / Open Day 24th October Torridon Hall 10.30am

Final Notice and Agenda

Following the publication of its Review of Freshwater Fisheries the Scottish Government has announced far reaching changes to the management of rivers and fishery management in Scotland including the axing of District Salmon Fisheries Boards.

In response to these changes the Skye and Wester Ross Trusts have lobbied hard to propose a model of fishery management for our rivers in Skye and Wester Ross which is capable of addressing the unique factors affecting their productivity. Above all; to maintain at the heart of the proposed reorganisation the experience, enthusiasm and commitment of the Skye and Wester Ross Trusts, Boards, Fishery Owners and Managers.

The formal amalgamation of the Trusts has become central to meeting these challenges. Accordingly, we hope to attract as wide an audience as possible to the meeting, particularly those with an interest in rivers and fishery management, to discuss and review our proposed strategy and to ensure the best outcome for fisheries in our area.

We would be very grateful if you could indicate by 11th October whether you will be able to attend?

We would also be grateful if you could extend the invitation to others with an interest in the issue.
