An evening with Philip Hoare
A talk on writing, the sea and whales
Wednesday 2 November - Ferry Terminal, Ullapool Harbour - 7.30 pm
Professor of Creative Writing at the University of Southampton and Leverhulme artist-in-residence at the Marine Institute, Plymouth University, Philip Hoare has a list of successful books to his name and wrote Leviathan or, The Whale (2008), which won the 2009 BBC Samuel Johnson Prize for non- fiction and more recently The Sea Inside (2013).
Between 2011-12, his self-professed ‘whale obsession’ led him to create the Moby Dick Big Read. A real treat for fans of literature, the sea and cetaceans alike.
