WREN - Wester Ross Environment Network

The Mountain Trail, Kinlochewe

, Start Time: 10:00, End Time: 16:00

Celebrate the Scottish Year of Homecoming by discovering a fragment of the ancient Caledonian Pine Forest that once covered vast areas of the Highlands and is protected and expanding here in the Beinn Eighe National Nature Reserve. Climbing above the forest to 550m we find ourselves in a totally different habitat,  resembling the arctic tundra. Learn about the geology, plant life and wildlife that makes this NNR so special. The trail is steep and rocky. Bring appropriate clothing/boots and lunch. Booking essential.Contact Wester Ross Ranger on 01854 613904/ 07881 502230.
